Vincent Joseph LoVerme, 81, of Orange, beloved husband of 55 years to Elizabeth LoVerme, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2021. Vincent was born on March 12, 1940 in White Plains, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Carmella LoVerme.
Vincent graduated from Milford High School in 1958 and went on to become a proud member of the National Guard, later choosing a career as a machinist. He was very handy and loved working on and discussing projects with his sons. He also enjoyed golfing and spending time at the beach, especially Cape Cod’s National Seashore. An avid fisherman, he was a member of the Milford Striped Bass Club and enjoyed using his skills to make his own lures, even establishing a small side-business with his sons selling fishing poppers. Vincent loved his family very much, and his most cherished times were spent with them.
Along with his wife, Vincent leaves behind his children, Stephanie (Brad) Engels, Joseph (Susanna) LoVerme, and Vincent F. (Kelly) LoVerme; grandchildren, Matthew and Aidan Engels, Marcello and Maximus LoVerme and Eva and Alyssa LoVerme; sister, Josephine (George) Rappa; niece and nephews, Melissa (John), Geoffrey, Christopher (Lisa), and Gregory; sister-in-law, Esther D’Albero; and brother-in-law, Gerald Caron. Vincent was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Cecilia Caron.
Family and friends may gather on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place that morning at 11:15 a.m. at Saint Mary Church, 212 Elizabeth St., Derby, CT 06418. Interment will follow at Saint Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Ave., West Haven, CT 06516. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation at www.helpfightra.org.
