Marianne Meagher Damon, 83, of West Haven (formerly of Milford), beloved wife of the late Stewart E. Damon, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday March 5, 2019. Born on October 1, 1935 in New Haven, CT she was the daughter of the late Joseph William Meagher and Mary Catherine Murphy Meagher. Marianne, a graduate of Milford High School, loved her family, she enjoyed reading, and camping and riding on the back of her husband Stewart’s Trike. Marianne was a member of the Coastline CB Club, her CB handle was Honey Bee her husband’s handle was Bumble Bee and her children were Buzz 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. She was also a member of the Coastline Amateur Radio Club, her call letters were KA1BGD. Marianne enjoyed taking her children, nieces, nephews and half the neighborhood in Woodmont to the beach daily. She loved the Borough of Woodmont, and would be the first one to tell someone they didn’t actually live in Woodmont if their address wasn’t inside the Welcome to the Borough of Woodmont signs, just ask Dr. Esposito.
Marianne is predeceased by her parents, Mary Catherine Murphy Meagher and Joseph William Meagher; her husband, Stewart E. Damon; and son, Michael. She is survived by her sister, Helen Meagher Keegan; her children, Mary Francis (Michael), Cathy (Anthony), Patty (Tommy), Eileen (Bobby), Stewart (Marybeth), Anne (Jim); 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and a very special family friend, Richard Williamson, lovingly known by everyone as Gramps.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Saint Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Avenue, Milford, CT 06460. Interment to follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Avenue, Milford, CT 06460. Friends and family may call from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM on Friday, March 8, 2019 at CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 N. Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Literacy Volunteers of Southern Connecticut via their website www.lvsct.org.
