Margaret "Peggy" Benway

Margaret Ann Benway “Peggy”, 81, of Milford, wife of the late Eugene John Benway, Jr., passed away on January 17, 2022. Margaret was born on November 6, 1940 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Robert Farrell, Sr. and Marjorie Baker and her husband G. Joseph Baker.

Above all, Margaret loved being a mother and grandmother and cherished every moment spent with her family. St. Patrick’s Day was a favorite holiday and she made sure everyone celebrated and wore green. She was a proud member of the Steel Workers Union and worked at Bic Pen for 33 years. Margaret loved cooking, taking trips to the casino, playing cards, scratch off tickets and Jai Alai.

Margaret leaves behind her children, Richard J. Benway and Debra M. Benway; beloved grandchildren, Erica A. Benway, Robert J. Benway and Mark J. Benway; siblings, Eileen Kochiss and Joseph Baker; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Farrell; daughter-in-law, Ann Benway; son-in-law, Peter Foss, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her children, Eugene Benway III, Donna M. Benway and Mark J. Benway; and siblings, Robert Farrell, Jr., Gregory Farrell and Patricia Thornhill.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. A Funeral Service will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
