Margaret "Peggy" Rybczak, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024, while in the presence of her loving husband. Born on August 23, 1945, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late John and Eleanor Cleland, Peggy spend her formative years in Brooklyn before moving to Milford in the 1970’s.
In 1979, Peggy married her beloved husband, John Z. Rybczak, and their union of 45 years was a testament to the enduring power of love and devotion.
Peggy's professional journey was marked by diligence and dedication. She earned her associate degree in accounting from Gateway Community College and applied her expertise in the comptroller's office at SNET. Even in her later years, Peggy continued to utilize her accounting skills, volunteering her time at the Milford Senior Center AARP Tax Association, touching the lives of many with her generosity and expertise.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Peggy found solace and joy in the world of art. She expressed her creativity through vibrant strokes of watercolors and acrylics, creating beautiful portraits and landscapes that captured the essence of her vibrant spirit.
Peggy's zest for life was infectious. With a quick wit and an outgoing nature, she effortlessly struck up conversations with anyone she met, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She loved to cook and delighted in hosting holiday gatherings. In her leisure time, Peggy cherished moments spent cruising the open seas with her beloved family.
In addition to her husband, John, she is survived by her loving children, Daniel Mills (Devon Mills) and Kimberly Rybczak, three adoring grandchildren, Christopher, Zoe, and Daniel, siblings John Cleland, Barbara O'Connor, and Virginia Cleland, and her cherished yorkies, Lady Madison and Lady Paddison. As well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and additional family. She is predeceased by her siblings: Eileen Cleland, Sharon Cleland, and Dennis Cleland.
The family would like to thank Connecticut Hospice for their professionalism in taking care of Peggy, and a special thank you to Rebecca and Marianne for their kindness.
A visitation will be held on Friday April 19, 2024 at Cody-White Funeral Home (107 Broad St, Milford CT 06460) from 6 to 8 p.m.
