Margaret S. Anderson

Margaret Theresa Soulliard Anderson, 91, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2018, after a long illness. She was a resident of Orange for over 60 years. Born on April 7, 1927 in Harrisburg, PA, Margaret was the eighth in a family of twelve children.

She is survived by her four sons - Arthur (Edna) of Woodbridge, Steven, North Carolina, Keith (Cathy) of Orange, and Douglas (Roger Haener) of Hancock NH. She also leaves 7 grandchildren - Paige, Courtney (Ken), A.J. (Kara), Justin (Molly), L. Violet (Nick), Ryan, and Kara, and 1 great granddaughter Angelina, as well as her sisters - Mary Patricia, Gertrude and Martha, and brother Richard, all of Pennsylvania, and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Arthur F. Anderson.

Margaret was a devoted wife and mother, a dedicated communicant of Holy Infant Church, and an active member of the Orange community and civic organizations. She was greatly admired by all who knew her. For many years she was employed by the Orange Chamber of Commerce, and served as bookkeeper for Anderson Automotive, Inc.

The Anderson family extends deep gratitude to the caring staff at Genesis Healthcare/The Willows in Woodbridge where Margaret lived out the last 2 years of her happy life.

Friends and family are invited to gather on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a service to honor Margaret’s life at 11 a.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. Interment will follow at Orange Cemetery, Orange Center Road, Orange. Memorial contributions in Margaret’s honor may be made to Yale School of Medicine, Alzheimer’s Study, c/o Zsuzsanna Sonogyi, PO Box 7611, New Haven, CT 06519-0611.
