Louis V. Fasold

Louis Vincent Fasold, 84, of Milford, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2022 after a brief but fierce battle with Leukemia. Louis was born and raised in Stratford, CT the son of the late Louis & Bernadette Fasold. Louis attended Stratford High School where he ran track and was a kicker for the football team. During high school he met the love of his life, Margaret Vitko. They married in 1958 and spent the next 65 years by each other’s side, playing tennis, cards or socializing with friends. They were always chit chatting and holding hands. 

Louis joined the Army and along with Marge they moved to Torrey Pines, NC. When Lou was called up for the Berlin crisis, Marge returned home to stay with family in Stratford.

In 1965, Lou & Marge moved to Milford where they would reside for the next 57 years. They welcomed 2 children, Kimberly & Kyle and became a complete family. Lou began an apprenticeship as a Manufacturing Engineer at Sikorsky Aircraft and subsequently earned his bachelors degree from The University of New Haven. He worked at Sikorsky direct for 42 years and was invited back as a consultant after retirement due to his unique knowledge of many parts. Lou was a member of the Knights of Columbus, played in a league at Milford indoor tennis and in later years enjoyed the senior golf league at The Orchards in Milford, even becoming a member of the Hole in One Club.

Above all else, Lou was a family man. When his beloved grandchildren Christopher & Elisabeth were born, Lou completely retired and became Grandpa Daycare. There was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with his grandchildren. Playing golf with Christopher, taking Ellie shopping or just watching them participate in their various activities. 

Louis is survived by his adored wife, Margaret; his daughter, Kimberly Hibson and her husband, Emmet; his son, Kyle Fasold; and most cherished grandchildren, Christopher & Elisabeth Hibson and Nicholas & Gianna Lastrina. He is also survived by his siblings Mary Tierney, Peter (Linda) Fasold and Paul (Mary) Fasold, many beloved nieces & nephews and so many wonderful friends. Louis was predeceased by his parents, his brother-in-law, Robert Tierney and granddaughter, Catherine Hibson.

Lou will be remembered as a kind and generous man who was always available if you needed help. He never met someone who wasn’t a friend!
