Lorraine P. Volgmuth

Lorraine P. Volgmuth, 76, of Milford, CT, beloved wife of Robert W. Volgmuth, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. Born on September 4, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Mildred Kern Knablein of Milford, CT.

At the age of nine, she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and was a 67 year survivor. She was a fighter and an inspiration to us all. She graduated Laurelton Hall in 1960. She worked at Subway World Headquarters for several years and became an active member of the Milford Senior Center. She was always willing to help others in any way she could.

She leaves behind the love of her life, Robert W. Volgmuth of 54 years; her two daughters, Christine and Tara; her aunt, Margaret Knablein; plus several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Mary Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church, 176 Broad St., Milford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 200 Connecticut Ave., Suite 4E, Norwalk, CT 06854.
