John Hill, Sr.

John Hill, Sr., 88, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Sarah Hill, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2018. Born on March 20, 1930 in Sugar Notch, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Zaieski Hill.

John was raised in Mt. Carmel, PA where he graduated from high school. In 1951, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. John proudly served his country in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1955. He went on to work for Sikorsky Aircraft where he retired after 36 years. Mr. Hill and his wife travelled to all 50 states, as well as visiting Europe, Africa, and South America. He was a parishioner of St. Ann Church (St. Raphael Parish) in Milford and was an active member of the Milford Senior Center. He enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino, bowling, gardening, and singing.    

John is survived by his eldest son, John Hill, Jr. and his wife Rita; his grandsons, Joshua and Tyler Hill; and his six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his youngest son, Richard Hill, and his sister, Hellen Humphries.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann Church, (St. Raphael Parish), 501 Naugatuck Ave., Milford, CT 06460 (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment with Military Honors will follow at King’s Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry St., Milford, CT 06460. Friends and family may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460.
