Georgios K. Karipidis

George K. Karipidis passed away on February 23, 2021, at the age of 58, after a courageous battle with cancer. While this disease did not define his life and will not monopolize our memories of him, it is important to note that he faced this battle the way he did all things- with strength, perseverance and a smile on his face. Always a smile on his face. He fought hard and through it all he remained positive; a pillar of strength for all those around him. He was and will forever be a loving husband, father, son, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend. He was also so much more than that: he was reliable, proud, goofy, strong, supportive, giving, helpful, kind, and loyal. You could not help but smile in his presence and it was impossible not to love and adore him. He was everything good and THAT is what he will be remembered for. 

George is survived by his wife, Maria; their three children, Konstantinos, Antonios, and Sofia; his father, Konstantinos; sister, Ioanna, her husband and two daughters; brother, Tasos, his wife, two sons, and daughter; cousin, Hristos, to whom George was like a brother, his wife and five daughters (and their families) who love George like a father; many other cousins, in-laws, and countless friends who were like family. George touched the lives of many and is loved beyond measure. 

Friends and family may call from 10:00am to 11:00am on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Saint Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Rd., Orange, CT. Church services will follow at 11:00am. Covid capacity restrictions and social distancing guidelines will be followed. Burial services will take place in Greece, per George’s wishes.
