David M. Maus

David Montgomery Maus, 74, of Berlin, CT, beloved husband of Kathleen Boyhan-Maus, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 16, 2021. Born on December 2, 1946, in Williamsport, PA, he was the son of the late Warren and Gladys Maus.

David attended Fitchburg State University in MA. He completed his graduate work at Southern CT State University and lived in CT the remainder of his life.

David was passionate about teaching his students at both John F. Kennedy School and Harborside Middle School in Milford, CT. He worked for freight rail early in his youth as well as passenger trains Amtrak, Metro North and Shoreline East. He enjoyed playing golf and tennis. David loved sharing his knowledge and tremendous sense of humor. He was a kind, true gentleman.

In addition to his wife Kathleen, David leaves behind his son, Nicholas Fomenko, his wife, Stephanie, and their two children: Logan and Stella. In addition, he leaves his daughter, Katy McGrath, her husband, Kevin, and their two children: Coleman and Riley. David leaves two sons from a prior marriage, Joseph and David Kennedy Maus. David was deeply loved by many devoted friends and family.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
