Bud Sempsrott

July 2, 1949 ~ September 26, 2021 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Tribute

On Sunday, September 26th, 2021 Duane (Bud) Charles Sempsrott, loving husband, father and grandfather went home to be with the Lord at the age of 72 in his home in Middletown, Connecticut. Although his passing was unexpected, it was peaceful and for this we are grateful.
Bud was born in Lebanon, Ohio in 1949 to Robert and Helen Sempsrott. He graduated from Lebanon High School and then attended Anderson College in Indiana where soon after he met his beloved wife, Polly, of almost 47 years. Together, they raised three children and have delighted in eight grandchildren.
During his college and early marriage years he traveled throughout the country playing bass guitar and singing back up in a gospel band called the Fishermen. During this time he witnessed hundreds of people giving their lives to the Lord and miraculous evidence of God’s faithfulness which provided a multitude of stories that have inspired many. In wider travels he enjoyed a trip to the Holy Lands and Greece, documenting his travels through photography, a hobby he enjoyed.
Bud provided for his family with his good work ethic and benefited every employer with his attention to detail and problem-solving skills. After obtaining his Associate in Science Ophthalmic Design and Dispensing in 2009 from Middlesex Community College he became a valued team member of opticians at Costco in Milford, CT for twelve years before retiring.
In his early twenties he began to anticipate the joy being a grandparent would bring. Naturally, he excelled in this role leaving a myriad of treasured memories with the grandchildren.
With a combination of ingenuity and hard work Bud faithfully and gladly served those around him. This gift of servanthood was exemplified in the three decades he served his local churches as a deacon, but was just as evident in the day to day life at home with family and neighbors. Humility and faithfulness permeated all of his interactions, but first and foremost in his relationship with his Heavenly Father. He first put his trust in Jesus Christ at a young age and continued to walk closely with the Lord through the years resulting in wisdom, godly character and a legacy that will be treasured by future generations.
Bud was preceded in death by his father, Robert and mother, Helen, and is survived by his wife, Polly, his three children, Joanna, Mark and Lindsey, his three brothers, Wayne (Diane), Karl (Leslie), Ralph (MaryEileen), eight grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
