Brenda T. Russo

Brenda Tarbox Russo, 77, of Milford, beloved wife of 55 years to Alphonse Russo, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2020. Born on December 18, 1942 in Waterbury, she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Vivian Tarbox.   

Brenda was a beloved Primary School teacher. Popular with her peers and students, she was elected Teacher of the Year in 1999. She was an active parishoner at Orange Congregational Church and was involved with their Feeding the Homeless Program as well as multiple other food kitchens in the area. Brenda had a heart of gold and never shied away from helping those in need. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and nurturing caterpillars into butterflies, earning herself the nickname, Butterfly Lady. Most importantly, Brenda enjoyed being with her beloved family and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Along with her husband, Brenda leaves behind her children, Michael (Deirdre) Russo and Stephen Russo; grandchildren, Charles, Samuel, Nicholas, Sarah, and Jack; brother, Alan P. (Sandra Mary) Tarbox; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her son, David A. Russo. 

Services will be held at a later date. The family is being compassionately cared for by the staff at the Cody-White Funeral Home 107 Broad Street Milford, CT 06460. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford.
