Barbara R. Guzowski

Barbara R. Guzowski, 86, of New Haven, passed away at her home on January 10, 2021. Born on August 19, 1934 in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Geraldine (Micili) Rava.   

Barbara graduated from Holy Cross Academy in Manhattan, NY in 1952 with honors. She went on to work in a variety of industries in administrative support before she found her niche working in the banking industry, in the trust department at Citytrust, New Haven, where she developed many friendships. She loved nature and walks along the beach and to travel the beautiful Northeast and Italy. Her most cherished pastime was to be with her family and friends. She was a wonderful mother, full of love and affection and had a great sense of humor. Her strength and perseverance throughout her life is a testament to the love of her children. We will miss her terribly and will cherish all our happy times together.

Barbara is survived by her children, Stephan (Mary) Guzowski, David (Gina) Guzowski, and Jacqueline (Paul) Torcellini; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Michael) Giacco, Melissa (Chris) Marino, David Jr. and Gabriella Guzowski, Orion, and Sabrina Torcellini; her great grandchildren, Joseph Giacco and Violette Guzowski; and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Barry Rava.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Noon at Saint Mary Church (Precious Blood Parish), 70 Gulf St., Milford. Only 100 people are allowed inside the church at once due to gathering restrictions and masks will be required. Interment will be private. Friends and family may call AT THE CHURCH from 10:30 until noon mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
