Allen W. Morrison

Allen W. Morrison, age 88, of Milford, CT passed away on January 19, 2023.  He was the beloved husband of Irene Morrison.  Allen was born in Bridgeport, CT, son of the late Allen W. Morrison and Arity Sherwood Morrison. 

Allen grew up in Fairfield, CT and graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School.  A veteran of the US Army, Allen served two years in Germany as a medic.  An accomplished jazz guitarist, he was a respected musician, playing and teaching professionally throughout Fairfield County.  His love of music was a source of great pleasure throughout his lifetime.  Allen became an independent insurance agent and established Morrison Insurance in Fairfield, Ct. His insurance career spanned many years, and the Morrison Insurance Agency remains a family business to this day.

Allen was a wonderful husband and father.  Allen and Irene enjoyed 57 years together, moving to Milford in 1967 where they raised their family.  He is survived by his wife and three children, Christopher (Amanda) Morrison of Monroe, Patricia (Thomas) Rosati of Milford, and William (Sheri) Morrison of Orange, and a sister, Marian Morrison Main of Milford.  His cherished grandchildren include Benjamin and Mary Morrison of Monroe, Thomas, Matthew, and William Rosati of Milford, and Arity and Bridget Morrison of Orange.  Also, a sister-in-law, Mary Murphy of Danbury, a niece Daphne (John) Main of Stratford and several nieces and nephews. 

The family would like to express gratitude for the compassionate care extended to Allen by his nurses and caregivers.  A special thank you to Justyn Still, a devoted caregiver and family friend.  

Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 BROAD ST., MILFORD, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mary Church (Precious Blood Parish) 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment with Military Honors will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Ave., Milford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association by mail at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
